Nike Yoga Collection (with Infinalon)

I celebrated International Yoga Day last June 21 using the Nike Training Club app to get a great yoga workout. I also wore some new yoga clothes thanks to Nike, which sent me some items from their latest Nike Yoga collection.

What made these yoga clothes so special that they warranted some special media attention? Well, if you were paying attention towards the end of last year, Nike announced a new material called Infinalon, which took two years to engineer and bring to fruition. In January, they added some items to the Nike website featuring Infinalon, and just recently they added more including the Nike Yoga Luxe cropped tank and Nike Yoga Luxe ribbed 7/8 tights I got.

The press release:

Movement without restriction — that’s the heartbeat of Nike Yoga’s new collection.

Designed to deliver infinite comfort on a yogi’s mat and beyond, the collection features Nike’s latest performance fabric innovation: Nike Infinalon. The result of more than two years of development, Nike Infinalon enters the yoga market, keeping stretch, size, softness and smoothing top of mind for the ultimate mat experience.

  • Stretch: With the same amount of force applied, the stretch and recovery of Infinalon is nearly double that of a fabric made from spandex. Unlike stretch lockout in spandex, Infinalon provides a comfortable and consistent fit through a gentle but nonrestrictive compression system that moves with you.
  • Size: With this finer yarn woven into multiple layers, yogis receive a high-density material at a low weight, which is why the collection’s staple products provide a breathable, lightweight feel.
  • Softness: Nike Yoga’s Infinalon fabric offers a smooth surface and feel that’s incredibly soft to the touch.
  • Smoothing: Nike Yoga’s Infinalon fabric provides sculpting, contouring and shaping without sacrificing comfort.

Designed to be deliberately minimal — everything you need and nothing more — the latest in Nike Yoga helps you make yoga yours; wherever, whenever and however long works for you.

Because everyone’s body is a yoga body, Nike’s latest yoga collection is designed to be inclusive, serving all genders and body types, from extra small to plus sizes. Thoughtful seam placement and minimal trims contribute to a zero-distraction apparel experience. The collection includes leggings, pants, shorts and bodysuits, and more. Nike Infinalon products are constructed with heat, as opposed to chemicals or solvents, to be more sustainable.

Nike Yoga wearers can complement their practice with the Nike Training Club (NTC) Premium App (now accessible at no charge). In addition to bodyweight sessions, targeted training programs and full-equipment workouts, Nike yoga master trainers on the NTC Premium App help inspire and motivate yogis on their journey – no matter where they are or what the starting point.

I noticed the material difference between these Yoga Luxe items versus older Nike activewear I own. The extremely comfortable and forgiving stretch and the lightness and smoothness of the fabric made doing yoga wearing the Yoga Luxe feel pretty special.
