[QUIZ] What’s Your Workout Type?

Want to spark an active and fit lifestyle, but just don’t know where to begin? Need to fire up your routine, but don’t know what you should try? To stay healthy you need approximately 30 minutes of moderately intense physical activity most days of the week, according to the American College of Sports Medicine. Find the hottest workout fit for your personality with this quick (non-scientific) quiz. You’ll be burning calories in no time!

The type of workout you might enjoy depends on your personality.

If you’re a self-motivator… Your motto in life is “If you want something done, do it yourself!” When it comes to exercise, you find a workout plan you like and stick with it. You might even set yourself goals, like running 5 kilometers in 30 minutes or increasing your bench press weight. You’re likely to love solo sports like biking, running, or hiking. Escape from your hectic routine with calmer activities, like walking, swimming, or yoga.

If you’re a team player… You surround yourself with friends whether at work or in your down time. If you’ve joined a gym, chances are you have some gym buddies you regularly meet for an intense workout session. Group activities and classes really get you going. Get your cardio fix with team sports like basketball, soccer, or Ultimate Disc. Just make sure the socializing and after-workout barkada meals don’t derail your fitness plan.

If you’re spontaneous… You’ll try anything once, and if you like it, you’ll do it again. You might find the gym a tough grind trying to count all those reps and minutes, and instead find ways to fit in some exercise on the fly – maybe a quick run through the park at lunchtime when you’re bored at work, or Wii Fit at your nephew’s house. Being fit is a commitment though. Rack up those 30 minutes or more of exercise daily, even if it is just in short spurts.

As we head into the weekend, it’s the perfect time to try a new sport, gym class, or outdoor activity. Let’s go!
