It’s amazing how big the Philippine running community has grown, and there are now races fit for every kind of runner across a wide spectrum of interests. In this blog post I highlight two races that show how diverse the community is.
Pet Express Doggie Run 2016
The Pet Express Doggie Run 2016 happens next Saturday, March 19 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds. In its 1.5K, 3K, and 5K categories, runners can pace alongside their furkids for a unique and fun experience. Part of the proceeds go to the animal shelter, PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society).

The North Face 100 Philippines 2016
From April 30 to May 1, Benguet will play host to The North Face 100 (simply known as TNF100 to trail enthusiasts). The North Face 100 is the first and the most anticipated distance trail running series in the Asia Pacific region. While TNF100 has made the rounds and been held in different areas of the Philippines, the Cordillera region is one of the most challenging, unspoiled, and breathtaking landscapes in the country.

With 11-kilometer, 22-kilometer, 50-kilometer, and 100-kilometer categories, this trail run exemplifies The North Face spirit: Never Stop Exploring and Break All Boundaries.
Online registration is ongoing from February 18, 2016 to April 28, 2016 at ThrillOfTheTrail.ph/registration.
In-store registration is ongoing from February 18, 2016 to April 24, 2016 at The North Face stores (SM Megamall, Glorietta, Shangri-la, SM Aura, SM MOA, SM North Edsa, UP Town Center, Alabang Town Center, Harbor Point Subic, SM Clark) and R.O.X. (Bonifacio High Street, Camp John Hay).
Race kits may be claimed from April 9 to April 24 only. Runners may only claim their race kit at the store where they registered. Unclaimed race kits shall be brought to the race venue’s base camp in Camp John Hay, Baguio.
