SBR.ph Tri Series 2019 – Aquaman, Duaman, Triman

Are you ready for the SWIMBIKERUN.ph Tri Series 2019 powered by Go for Gold?

Everyone’s got to start somewhere, and I’ve found the SBR.ph Tri Series to be one of the best ways to do so. This tri series was established primarily for beginners and for returning athletes. Any swim stroke is allowed (if you can reach the pool floor you can even walk the swim LOL), any bicycle is allowed (yes, your foldie or fixie will do), and any finish time is allowed (no cut-off times as long as you finish)!

There’s only a month left until Aquaman Aquathlon, the first event in the series. Check out all the details below. I’m planning to race all three because OMG HAVE YOU SEEN THE MEDALS AND THE TRIFECTA T-SHIRT?

Aquaman Aquathlon (May 19, 2019 at Vermosa Sports Hub)

DISTANCES : Full Distance / Lite Distance / Aquakids

  • FULL Distance : 800m Swim – 5k Run
  • LITE Distance : 400m Swim – 2.5k Run
  • AQUAKIDS :
    • 7-10 yrs old (100m Swim / 600m Run)
    • 11-14 yrs old (300m Swim / 2k Run)

CUT OFF TIME : Take Your Time 😉

If you know how to swim, but don’t have a bike, an aquathlon is a great way to explore multisport. With the variety of distances available, people of any fitness level can compete and complete this race!

New this year is the Aquakids category open to youths aged 7 to 14 years old. This is a great way to introduce your children to the sport, and who knows, we might find the next SEA Games gold medalist among them? (Claire Adorna is an alumna of the inaugural Aquaman and Triman races.)

Duaman Duathlon (June 16, 2019 at Nuvali Camp N)

DISTANCES : Full Distance / Lite Distance

  • FULL Distance : 6k Run – 25k Bike – 3k Run
  • LITE Distance : 3k Run – 15k Bike – 3k Run

CUT OFF TIME : Take Your Time 😉

The Duaman Duathlon distances have been designed to be doable for newbies but challenging enough for experienced duathletes.

Of note is the SBR.ph Tri Series’s commitment to being newbie-friendly, so any type of self-propelled bicycle is allowed. (If you don’t have your own, you can always borrow one.)

That’s probably why the Duaman Duathlon is the largest recorded duathlon in Philippine history. Its previous editions have attracted over 1,500 participants!

Triman Triathlon (July 28, 2019 at Fontana Clark Global City)

DISTANCES : Full Distance / Lite Distance

  • FULL Distance : 600m Swim – 30k Bike – 5k Run
  • LITE Distance : 300m Swim – 20k Bike – 2.5k Run

CUT OFF TIME : Take Your Time 😉

I really love this race.

The Triman Triathlon is considered as the de facto training/breeding ground of all triathlon newbies and is the most newbie-friendly triathlon in the country. As mentioned above, any swim stroke is allowed (and the pool at Fontana is basically chest-deep, so if you have problems swimming you can always stand up and find your bearings again). Any bike is allowed. And this race has typically had a 100% finish rate. Awesome!

So I mentioned that the medals are awesome, as well as the extra finisher shirt for those who complete all three events. I mean, check these out:

I hope to see you at the SBR.ph Tri Series this year!
