In Bonifacio Global City, the area of McKinley Hill and McKinley West is one of the more secluded yet challenging places to run, thanks to its rolling terrain. On May 21, 2017, McKinley West will be the site for Run for the Mountains, a benefit run for our indigenous peoples and the children of Smokey Mountain.
Organized by JCI Manila, the Run for the Mountains will feature 3K, 5K, and 10K distances as well as a barbecue cookout with inflatable parks. There’s something for every member of the family.
During the race you’ll be running with Smokey Mountain football player scholars. Post-race, Mangyan, Igorot, and Aeta athletes will showcase their skills in a “Ninja Warrior” type atmosphere.
Proceeds from the race will go to the improvement of the Smokey Mountain Community Field of Dreams. JCI Manila will also be building water pipes for the IP groups.
(Last year, JCI Manila’s beneficiary for their charity run event was the L.I.F.E. Foundation to pay for the treatment of children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.)
10K is priced at P750, 5K at P600, and 3K at P500 inclusive of singlet, race bib, loot bag, and entry to post-race raffle. Each loot bag will contain a Mega Fiber cookie bar, Pocari sports drink, Jamba Juice free upsize voucher, Gu gels, and Pringles. Because most proceeds will be donated, medals will only be awarded to the Top 3 finishers. Raffle prizes include Curves 1-day pass, Brooks shoes, and many more.

This is a pretty great cause to run for.
