What do you get when you bring together a brand with a strong sports and fitness legacy, and women who love fitness in all its varied aspects? You get Adidas Fit Fest, a whole-day extravaganza held last Sunday at the Globe Live Amphitheater in Bonifacio High Street.
While Adidas holds monthly FitSquad pocket workouts, I believe this is the first time they’ve held a fitness event this massive. With fun activities scheduled from sun-up to sundown, it was a great day out for female Adidas fans and brand ambassadors alike.
I loved that the first two activities were a run with Adidas Boost Manila and Rocket Yoga with LIFE Yoga, so I signed up for those two to start my Sunday right.

Adidas ambassador Cassie Umali welcomed us to the Fit Fest. This woman is seriously into fitness: Ms. Gold’s Gym Philippines, national athlete on the Lady Volcanoes rugby squad, event host and sportscaster, and a Century Tuna Superbods finalist.

The run was led by Adidas Boost Manila, a consortium of running groups from around Metro Manila. It was meant to be a simple group run, not a race, so I really enjoyed just being out on the road burning some calories and getting some mileage in my legs. We did three loops around the Bonifacio High Street area before heading back to the amphitheater for some refreshments.
ran my ass off in my PureBoost X shoes
Because I didn’t overtire myself on the run, I felt warmed up and full of energy for the next activity: Rocket Yoga with LIFE Yoga coaches. You may remember a few months ago I took a trial Ash-Asana class at LIFE and wrote about it. While Ash-Asana is more of a beginner’s introduction to Ashtanga yoga, Rocket yoga takes the practice to a different level fusing Pilates and Ashtanga sequences to provide a challenging workout. I was amused (but not surprised) by the number of inversions and arm balances included in the class.
this is actually really easy; you just have to be not afraid of falling
Because it was a Sunday, I had to leave after the morning workouts to join my family for breakfast and quality time. However, the fun continued at the Globe Live Amphitheater with a nutrition talk, Boot Camp sessions with Primal Ape Crossfit, Combat Training with Ida Paras, an interview and fashion show with Adidas influencers, and a tough NTSweat session with Nikki Torres to close the night out.
It was wonderful to see women come together from different backgrounds and challenge themselves with the day’s workouts, as well as get new perspective on training and nutrition. Let’s hope this is only the beginning of a fitness revolution in the country. π
