Some of my teammates are flying out in December to participate in the Macau Marathon. I would love to take a trip too…
On December 16, 2011, 500 bloggers from around the Asia-Pacific region will flock to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011 in Putrajaya Marriott. The Awards aims not only to honor the region’s best bloggers, but also to bring together blogger communities from across Asia-Pacific. The Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards is brought to you by Volkswagen Malaysia and Putrajaya Marriott.
Unfortunately, attendance is by invite and there are only 500 slots, so I’m writing this post as my official contest entry hoping to win a ticket. (See the end of this post to find out how you can get a chance to go to the NAPBAS, too!)
Just like Charlie’s golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s factory 🙂
Why I Really Want to Go to the NAPBAS
Reason #1: The who’s who of the Asia Pacific blogosphere are sure to be at the NAPBAS. It’s kind of like the Academy Awards, but for bloggers, which makes it way cooler 😉 I’d love to see and meet these people who make a difference blogging in their respective niches.
It’d also be great to meet bloggers like me from other countries. I once attended a dinner with some Australian bloggers as guests, and we had such a great time just talking about each other’s cultures and what the blogging scene is like in Australia and the Philippines. At the NAPBAS, who knows, I might get to meet a running blogger from Singapore and they can tell me all about their local marathon!
Reason #2: Call me biased, but Filipino bloggers are really fun to be around, even if you’ve only just met them. If I do get to go to the NAPBAS, I’m looking forward to hanging out with my fellow Pinoy bloggers and cheering for any who get nominated or win!

Mikey Bustos extols the virtues of being Pinoy This Way.
Reason #3:The sad fact is, I’ve never been to Malaysia. Since the NAPBAS will be held at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel (in a district 25 kilometers away from Kuala Lumpur), I’ve already taken the liberty of researching what attractions Putrajaya holds. I’ve been to Hong Kong and Macau in the past and loved every minute of strutting down streets I’ve never walked before and taking in the sights on foot. I’m really looking forward to running Putrajaya’s well-paved streets and seeing buildings such as the Putra Mosque.
It’s pink!
So there you have it; those are my three reasons for wanting to attend the NAPBAS! If you want to come too, you can win an exclusive invite by joining Nuffnang’s blog contest.
Choose from EITHER one of the options below.
- OPTION A: Write a blog post titled “My Nuffnang Story” . Tell us about your journey with Nuffnang – the fun times you had, the friends you’ve made; if you’re new to Nuffnang, you can write about the things you are looking forward to as a part of the community!
- OPTION B: Write a blog post titled “Nuffnang Blog Awards, Here I Come”. Tell us the top 3 reasons why you want to attend the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011.
Your blog post must include information about the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards as below (can be re-written in your own words if you wish):
