Color Manila Run on January 6

Let’s start the New Year with an explosion… of colored powder!

On January 6, 2013 at Bonifacio Global City, the Color Manila Run will be the first race of the year, and the first race of its kind here in the Philippines.

In the three distances offered — 1.5K, 3K, and 5K — expect five different color stations where you’ll get showered with different colors of powder. At the Magic Yellow station await an army of cheerleaders; a drum line pounds beats at the Ocean Blue area; you can rock out at the Funky Pink mosh pit; groove with fertility dancers at the Evo-Green spot; and sizzle with poi dancers at the Fiery Purple stop over. Inspired by the Color Run series of races in the US, the goal is to have fun and get as much color on yourself (and others!) before you cross the finish line.

Color Manila Run is for the benefit of Republikha, a nonprofit organization that aims to empower the next generation through music & education, and Hop-E, a foundation moving towards eradicating poverty thru the four elements: Education, Empowerment, Employment, & Events.

All distances are priced at P750. The Color Manila reg kit includes: bib, shirt, Color Manila sunglasses, and color packet. Finishers will each receive a finisher’s shirt and medal, too.

You can register online soon at Proactive.ph. For now, registration is happening in-store at Urban Athletics (Greenbelt 3), Toby’s (MOA, Megamall) & RUNNR (BHS, ATC, Trinoma). Registration is from October 26 to December 15. Kit claiming will occur at BGC in the second week of December.

There’s an Indian festival, Holi, that uses colored powders just like this. In case you’re wondering, the powder is flour mixed with water and food coloring, so it’s safe for kids and adults.
