Races that benefit the welfare of children are close to my heart. So when one of my blog readers messaged me about the Hope 2017: Run for Children with Special Needs, I knew for certain I wanted to post about it here in the hopes that some of you would like to run for a great cause.
The Hope Run this year will be held in two cities: Manila on December 2 (SM Mall of Asia), and Cebu on December 10 (Ayala Business Park) with distances of 1.5K, 5K, 10K, and 21K. You can run in the standard race kit, or wear your best hero costume and cosplay through the run. The “standard race kit” actually includes a singlet, cape, and hero’s mask already! All finishers will also receive a finisher’s medal upon completion. (Race timing is only available for 10K and 21K as this is a non-competitive event.)
Hope 2017 Run registration fees and race details
This will benefit the Kid’s Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to providing early intervention for children with special needs from low income families. Children with special needs have been diagnosed with developmental disability or are not learning and developing at the same rate as other children their age. Due to financial constraints, some children have little to no access to interventions that will help them reach their full potential. Kid’s Hope Foundation subsidizes special education for such children through its scholarship programs. (Check out Kid’s Hope Foundation on Facebook for more information.)
