Happy New Year!
With mass participation events picking up again, I’m so happy to help announce that Clark’s longest-running and biggest running event is back! The Clark Animo International Marathon returns on March 5, 2023.
Organized by the De La Salle Alumni Association of Pampanga (DLSAA-P), the TCS-Clark Animo International Marathon will feature a 2.5km kids’ race, and 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km open categories.
The non-profit fundraising marathon is for the benefit of the Angeles City Watershed Project in partnership with ARAW-ACI and the La Salle Botanical Gardens at Alviera, Porac, Pampanga which are have been beneficiaries since 2009 and 2016, respectively.
The Clark Animo Run has been around for quite a while; in 2018 the race achieved IAAF-AIMS international accreditation for accurate course measurement, the only race in this part of the Philippines on par with other IAAF-AIMS accredited races like the TCS-New York Marathon, the Boston Marathon, Hong Kong Marathon, and Singapore Marathon.
Having peaked at 10,000 total participants in 2019, the race is relaunching under COVID-related protocols with a limited number of 5,000-6,000 slots for better crowd control and to ensure the safety of attendees.
To prepare the local community for the relaunch of this race, the DLSAA-P held Clark Animo “Kick-start” Runs to help runners tune up for their goal of running longer distances.
Registration closes on February 1, 2023 so don’t miss out!
