Saturday’s launch of the Under Armour Run Crew drew running enthusiasts from all over the metro to experience the first of three months’ worth of workouts under the tutelage of coaches Jim and Toni Saret. As a kickoff bonus, the launch went bigtime with a huge set-up at Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater and featured Under Armour celebrity endorser Piolo Pascual.

Aside from the planned 5K community run, they had also set up a huge circuit training area where participants could work on their core and leg strength, an integral part of good run technique.

In a previous post I explained that Coach Jim and Coach Toni run the APEX running school. The UA Run Crew is a partnership between them and Under Armour to help runners improve their running the right way.
Also present was Under Armour affiliate trainer Mama Kat, while I got dragged into demonstrating Coach Toni’s 4-minute workout as a warmup alongside Piolo.

After the warm-up, participants were divided into groups of 10 to go around the stations and perform the assigned exercises. Afterwards, they could go on an easy 5-kilometer run.
