Unlike previous years when my birthday heralded big events, like Challenge Roth in 2014 and my Eurotrip last year, my birthday this year was a quiet affair spent in the company of my close family. I ate entirely too much, laughed and smiled so hard, and felt so loved. It was perfect.
Oh, and I also got this done:
It’s been 20 years since I’ve had this cut. They say when a woman cuts her hair, she’s about to change her life. Well, I’ve been feeling a bit lethargic and stuck in a rut, so I guess having one thing less to worry about when I’m training should help me get into gear better. I only have eight or nine weeks until Challenge Vietnam, so I need to make those weeks count.
When you get to this age you want to trim all the fluff happening in your life and double-down on what’s important to you. I’m very thankful I have partners and supporters on this journey that believe in me and what I’m trying to do to get Filipinos to sit up and get fit.
By the way, Simple Hydration is helping me celebrate my birthday! Use the code KIKAYRUNNER on your next purchase from their website runsimpleph.com and get 15% off.
