Atleta Ako has been a constant fixture in the endurance sport community ever since they launched a few years ago. Aside from locally distributing some of the best gear I’ve ever used to swim, bike, and run, they’ve sponsored multisport events I made wonderful memories at.
This year, Atleta Ako has decided to go for a virtual event with the Atleta Ako Virtual Challenge. Registration begins on November 30 at 9am and ends December 7 at 11:59pm. Then, from December 8, 2020 to March 8, 2021 participants need to log and upload their activities to complete their selected distance. Participants can even sign up from anywhere in the world!
The unique thing about the Atleta Ako Virtual Challenge is that aside from the regular mileage-generating workouts like running, other workouts count also, converting time into equivalent kilometers. For example, 20 minutes of yoga, 20 minutes of golf, or 10 minutes of dancing all convert into 1 kilometer’s worth of mileage.
Participants can track their activities by using workout-tracking applications like Strava or Runkeeper, smartwatch like Garmin, and smartphone Health Apps as long as they can accurately track time and distance. They then have to upload the data to the Atleta Ako Virtual Challenge website.
There are four different distances.
Atleta Sweat (50K, 100K)
Participants must complete the distance through non-machine workouts such as running, swimming, walking, practicing yoga, playing golf, jumping rope, dancing, rock climbing, weightlifting, CrossFit or Pilates. (Cycling and rowing will not be counted in this event.)
- 50K – P1,300
- 100K – P1,500

Atleta Steel (150K, 300K)
Participants must complete the distance y choosing at least 2 or more events from the following – running, cycling (indoor or outdoor), swimming, walking, rowing, practicing yoga, playing golf, jumping rope, dancing, rock climbing, weightlifting, CrossFit or Pilates.
- 150K – P1,300
- 300K – P1,500

You can start doing your workouts at 12:01 am on Dec 8, 2020, Philippine Time. You can do your last workout on March 8, 2021 but it must be uploaded before 11:59 PM of March 8, 2021.
