It’s the lucky 7th year for the Salomon X-Trail Run as it returns this year to Subic Bay on July 22, 2018.
Known for its exciting trail routes, the Salomon X-Trail Run has two categories: the Trail Run for beginners (6K and 12K), and the Mountain Run for more experienced runners (24K and 32K). With a target 1,500 participants, the Salomon X-Trail Run will make use of forest trails in Subic that are not normally open to the public.
Race director Eric Imperio of XTribe talked with awe about working with the Aetas, who care for these mountain trails and the wildlife within this domain. “When we were mapping the routes for this year’s race, they would tell us to stop walking to avoid startling an animal crossing the path,” he said.
Trail Run participants will receive a race bib, timing chip, Salomon X-Trail technical jersey, post-race meal, raffle coupon & products from sponsors.
Mountain Run participants will receive a race bib, timing chip, Salomon X-Trail technical jersey, Salomon Microfiber towel, post-race meal, raffle coupon & products from sponsors. Only those who finish within the cut-off time will receive a Finisher’s medal for this category.
If registering for the Mountain Run, participants must acquire a medical certificate before registration and present mandatory gear before the race: a headlamp, a whistle, and a hydration pack/belt with at least 500mL of water. Those with incomplete mandatory gear will not be allowed to participate in the race.
The Salomon X-Trail Run is a Green Race and will not permit the use of disposables (no plastic cups at aid stations!). Participants are required to bring their own water containers.
To register, visit Salomon Stores at SM Aura, SM Megamall, Glorietta 3, SM North Edsa Annex ,or online at salomonxtrailpilipinas.com.ph until July 8. Race kits will be claimed on-site. Online registrants can opt to have the Race Kits delivered via courier for an additional fee.
