PMMA Bicentennial Fun Run 2020 on January 25

The Philippine Merchant Marine Academy invites runners to join their Bicentennial Fun Run happening this January 25, 2020 at the Quirino Grandstand.

The PMMA, the pioneer institution in maritime education in the country is supported by government funds with help from the shipping industry. It is the proud mother of the finest Filipino merchant marine officers — master mariners, chief engineers, shipping executives, naval officers, excellent educators and trainors now serving in marine and maritime-related industries in our country and abroad.

Originally named β€œEscuela Nautica de Manila”, created by virtue of a Spanish Royal decree issued on January 1, 1820, the school was inaugurated on April 5 of the same year. It was renamed as the Philippine Nautical School (PNS) during the American occupation. In 1963, Republic Act 3680 converted it into the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy. So when they say “Bicentennial” they mean TWO HUNDRED YEARS!

Race categories/distances and race registration fees: 10k (P950), 5k – (P850), 3k – (P750)

Race kits include: race singlet/shirt, bib number, finisher medal, and drawstring bag with freebies. Kit claiming will be at Quirino Grandstand on the date of the event.

Aside from awarding the Top 3 finishers men and women, this fun run will also give awards to the oldest finisher, youngest finisher, and the most number of delegates/participants from a group or company.
