The Next Step Triathlon Camp Series

For the longest time I’ve gotten away with getting no coaching for running. But now that I’ve entered the world of multisport I realize there are so many variables to consider, so many things to do, that I can’t waste time with trial and error. I need a coach.

Well, how about two coaches? The Next Step Triathlon Camp series by Coach Dan Brown and Coach Ani de Leon is about to start its run in the next few months. It is the first organized training camp series in the Philippines open to triathletes of all skill levels — including non-elite athletes like myself. I’ll learn essential swimming, biking, and running skills, build fitness, and have fun training with like-minded people.

The Next Step Triathlon Camp Series

I’m looking forward to participating in the following training weekends:

  • Camp 1: Season Starter 26-28 Feb 2011
  • Camp 2: SUBIT Focus 8-10 Apr 2011
  • Camp 3: Bike Focus 20-22 May 2011
  • Camp 4: Road to Cam Sur 1 17-19 June 2011
  • Camp 5: Road to Cam Sur 2 8-10 July 2011

I’m a firm believer in training intensives, where you dedicate whole chunks of time towards learning and honing skills without outside distractions; you can focus fully. That’s why The Next Step Triathlon Camp Series is bound to be beneficial not just for training the body, but also the mind.

I’m pretty excited about working with coaches Dan Brown (no, not the author) and Ani de Leon. Ani in particular is one of the female athletes I look up to and is a great Filipina role model!

  1. Titanium Runner, a road bike is a great investment. πŸ™‚ If you’re seriously thinking about training for tri’s and dua’s (exploring a different athletic side), it’s easy to buy one that’s within budget. πŸ™‚

  2. Woww this is great… just a few weeks ago, I already thought of buying a road bike. Then just a few days ago, I wanted to just buy an MTB. And now it seems that I have to opt for a road bike, hehe! Noelle, what do you think would be best? What’s your bike?

  3. Hi Running Atom! (sorry, your comment was flagged as spam so I didn’t see it at first.) I bought a road bike because I’m interested in doing triathlons and duathlons. Most of those are held on roads, which led me to decide on getting a roadie. If you’re going for speed, a roadie is definitely what you need.

MTB’s are more for adventure and trail races; they’re fun if you like exploring mountains and other rugged terrain.
