Get Ready for King Of The Road

Registration for Adidas King Of The Road 2010 (5K/10K/21K) begins on September 24 at Adidas Performance stores (Alabang Town Center, Eastwood Citywalk, Gateway, Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3, Newport City, Power Plant Mall, Shangri-la, SM Mall of Asia, Trinoma, Ayala Center Cebu) and RUNNR stores (Bonifacio High Street and Ayala Center Cebu).

You get your race packet immediately upon registration. Each race packet contains a unique BLACK singlet, race bib, map, guidelines/rules and regulations, and timing band. This year’s KOTR is timed by RFID Timing Systems, an Australian company that has timed major events like the Melbourne Marathon, Ironman races, and swimming and canoeing races in different parts of the world.

Of course, getting ready for a race doesn’t mean just registering for it.

Gear Up at Adidas Running Zones

To help you get the right gear for KOTR, Adidas has opened Running Zones in the registration venues. These Running Zones offer a wide array of running products to choose from, including the Supernova, adiZero, Response and miCoach. Foot scans and foot discs will help you determine what running shoe suits you best, and you can also test-run these shoes on treadmills in-store.

Personalized Solo Coaching with miCoach

The Adidas miCoach personalized training system is available through the miCoach devices available in Adidas stores. You can also download the miCoach app for your iPhone or Blackberry device for free; using your phone’s built-in GPS capabilities, you get real-time pace-based coaching and location tracking on the run.

Group-Based Training with adiNation of Runners

Buddy up with the adiNation of Runners groups held all over the metro. Led by dedicated individuals with experience in distance marathons, the clubs will provide coaching to members, preparing them for upcoming race events throughout the year. aNR has about 1,000 members and is continuously growing in the following aNR areas: Pearl Drive in Ortigas, Madrigal Circle in Alabang, Ayala Triangle in Makati, and Bonifacio High Street in Taguig. Watch for two more aNR venues in UP Diliman and MOA.

Upon registering for aNR, you receive a passport which is stamped for each week you attend an aNR group run. You get discount and freebies for a particular number of stamps collected. Longtime aNR members can use their passport stamps to get a discount on KOTR registration: 11 to 19 stamps gets you a 50% discount, while 20 or more stamps entitles you to free registration!
