Brooks Ghost 12 Running Shoes [REVIEW]

For the past three weeks I’ve been running exclusively in the Brooks Ghost 12, putting them through the paces and seeing where they fit into my shoe arsenal.

While I’ve run in a pair of Brooks Levitate once, I didn’t like how stiff they were and didn’t continue a shoe review on them. Previously I also tried on a pair of Brooks shoes in a RUNNR store and found the toe box was quite low. But third time’s the charm, because the Brooks Ghost 12 sent to me was a dream to run in.

Some info from the Brooks website:

Balanced, Soft Cushioning – BioMoGo DNA and DNA LOFT cushioning work together to provide a just-right softness underfoot without losing responsiveness and durability β€” yet it feels lighter than ever.

Soft, Secure Fit – By placing stretch and structure where you need it most, the newly engineered mesh and 3D Fit Print upper practically disappears on your foot. On the GORE-TEX version of the shoe, the waterproof, breathable membrane offers waterproof protection so you can tackle puddles and rainy-day runs.

Smooth Ride – No matter how your foot lands, our Segmented Crash Pad β€” an integrated system of shock absorbers β€” will cushion every step and stride for smooth heel-to-toe transitions.

The Brooks Ghost 12 definitely delivered on all three points. It’s positioned as the everyday neutral trainer, a Jack of all trades if you will. But for many runners like me, it’s bound to be a pretty solid shoe to log miles in day in, day out.

While I enjoyed running in the Brooks Ghost 12, its limited colorway availability in the Philippines especially at the price it goes for versus similar trainers from other brands means it isn’t going to be top of mind right away when people go browsing for their next running shoes.

I really hope Brooks Running Philippines brings in an expanded colorway. In particular, I would love to cop a pair in this tan and candy colorway I spotted on the Brooks USA website.

The Brooks Ghost 12 retails for P6,495 in both men’s and women’s sizes and is available at Runnr BHS, Runnr Trinoma, Runnr Cebu, Tobys MOA, Tobys Flagship, SM Department stores MOA, North Edsa, Megamall and at brooksrunning.com.ph
