Energizer Night Race Manila on May 4, 2013 at BGC
This race is on its second year, with the theme “Race for a Brighter World.” Worldwide, Energizer is working with One Million Lights to donate solar-powered lighting to remote communities in Latin America, Ethiopia, Kenya, and the Philippines. The Energizer Night Race aims to raise awareness of the world’s need for safe, clean, and affordable solar lighting.
Runners can choose between 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer distances (the 10K is two loops of the 5K route). Assembly is at 6pm and gunstart for 10K is at 7:30pm at 34th Street near Turf BGC. Each race kit includes an Energizer headlamp, cap, race singlet, and neon fabric paint pens to customize their singlets with. Creating the Best Singlet Design and Best Message will entitle you to prizes from Energizer! There is also a photo contest: post your photos after the race on Energizer’s Facebook page and get a chance to win Best Before and After Photos, Best Action shot, and Best Light Art Photo.
(Note: race participants must wear the headlamp, cap, and race singlet throughout the race to avoid disqualification.)
Registration fees are P700 for 5K and P800 for 10K. You can register at Brooks SM North EDSA, RUNNR Bonifacio High Street, and Toby’s Sports (EDSA Shangri-la, Glorietta, SM Mall of Asia) until April 30. Online registration is also available at the Energizer Night Race microsite.
