The start of summer has been quite rainy, but I’m sure you’ve noticed how hot it’s becoming during the daytime. How can a race beat the heat?

How about a night race?

Takbo.ph Nightfest on April 9

Takbo.ph‘s successful Runfest last year paved the way for more events organized by the country’s largest running community. Nightfest is the latest venture, and it promises to be another fun one.

The Filinvest route will be refreshing to those like me who regularly run at BGC but never make it to Alabang. There’s something for both new and experienced runners with the 5K and 10K distance categories. Magnify that with the novelty of running a race at night. I’m definitely running this.

And of course, the reason it’s a Nightfest and not just a “Nightrun” is the festival that follows afterwards, with a dance showdown courtesy of Skechers, DJ music courtesy of GSM Blue, and a photo booth.

The Nightfest has a beneficiary which is close to runners’ hearts. Team Logan (Craig, Michelle, and Justin) are a familiar sight at races. Their advocacy, Runners On A Mission, aims to help provide access to therapy for special needs children in the Philippines.

Registration is at P650; you can register at Skecher stores in Festival Mall, Glorietta 5, Market! Market!, Trinoma, and Robinsons Place Ermita.
